Editing and taking photos is the complete bane of my life. If I’d have my way, there would be 0 images on my blog and everything would be text. Unfortunately there are so many incredible blogs out there and to get any chance of literally anyone apart from family members on facebook (I see ya, don’t think I don’t) reading my blog, then the images have to be really well thought out and as professional as possible. Unfortunately I am the laziest and slobbiest person when it comes to taking photos and cannot spend more than 5 minutes taking them and 5 minutes editing them which is why they are consistently shabby. To be honest though, nobody can deny that my photography hasn’t improved since when I started my blog and would take a photo on my iphone 5 with the top of a babies head in the background and literally 0 lighting. Here are some comparisons.
This is February 2018 vs. April 2017 so even though my photography might not be as good as other bloggers I feel like I have improved massively.
When taking my photos I like to use natural lighting, usually around lunch time and take my photos on top of our white ikea storage boxes which creates a nice back ground. I am currently using pixlr which is a free online photo editor and pretty much the only one that I can currently get my head around.
I usually raise the contrast, brightness and lightness unless I reach a level which I like and save it.
If for any reason I am making a blog photo with a caption then I will use a different website called canva which is a website which I really love. There are hundreds of free really professional looking layouts for pretty much every situation that you could think of and is super easy to use.
