New year, New Baby.

Affordable Christmas tree decoration ideas (11)

Okay, so this blog title is pretty self explanatory and I’m not sure that click bait has come to blogging yet so you know I’m not lying. We are having another baby. March 13th, which is very, very exciting. It came as a huge shock to us both and we only found out a couple of months ago so really have not had much time to prepare ourselves or prepare Leo but we are doing the best that we can right now. To be honesty I think that we’ve done a pretty good job, we’ve managed to stop him cosleeping and into his cot every night. He now only gets up at like 6ish and comes for morning cuddles for maybe 20 minutes a day. Now all we need to do is transition him into his own bedroom but we’ll do that once his cough has gone away as leo wakes himself up a bunch of times a night.
I feel pretty prepared in everything that we done, the only thing i’m worrying about is buying stuff. I just haven’t gotten around to buying anything new for the baby which isn’t ideal as she’ll be here in literally 10 weeks. The thing that is calming me is that literally everybody that I’ve spoken to has said that having your second is not as hard as having your first which I’ve found to be true so far. I’m not struggling the pregnancy and we can reuse a lot of leo’s clothes that he wore when he was a newborn, the only big new things that we have to buy is a new cot, pram and a few more girlie baby clothes and dresses.
I was always convinced that I’d be a mumma to boys so it hasn’t really sunk in that I’m going to have a little girl, i’m so excited to have all of the clothes and the pink things in the house and to be evened out as opposed to 2 boys to 1 girl.
But there are a couple of new year’s resolutions that I definitely need to put in place.
  1. Don’t be as cuddly and clingy as I was with Leo. It was so nice cuddling him all of the time but caused so many problems when I actually needed to do stuff.
  2. Put a sleep routine in ASAP.
  3. be more creative with meals and possibly eat more vegetarian food.
  4. pick up a new hobby other than being a mum and blogging, something possibly to do with sports.
  5. Pick up a night shift if I can, it’s something I really wanted to do because I barely sleep at night anyway.
  6. Improve on my photography, I’m really impatient when it comes to taking pictures so try harder.
  7. Join a mum group and make new mum friends
  8. MOVE HOUSE!!!!!!!!!

  3. Congratulations! Such an exciting start to the year for you all! I absolutely recommend joining a few mother and baby groups; you’ll meet other mums, but if you take Leo along too he might meet other children his own age too. Also, soft play areas are great for tiring them out too! My son Owen is two this month and a complete hurricane, but soft play areas wear him out enough to give me 5 minutes peace! 🙈
